Getting There
Airports
The closest airports are the San Francisco Bay Area airports.
Driving from the Airport
It takes roughly 1 1/2 to 2 hours to drive from the San Francisco International Airport. Google Maps has a couple of routes that will get you there.
Public Transportation
Marin Airporter: There is not a complete public transportation route that will get you the full way, but the Marin Airporter will get you a large portion of the way. This bus leaves roughly every hour from the San Francisco International Airport and takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes and costs $32 to get you to the Smith Ranch Road stop (located at 25 Smith Ranch Road, San Rafael), which is the closest one to the routes to our retreat location.
From the Smith Ranch Road, you can take a taxi the rest of the way, which is roughly 28 miles (about 45 minutes) and may cost in the neighborhood of $110-140. Or you can make your way to the Route 68 Bus to continue your journey.
The Marin Airporter stops don’t directly connect to the Route 68 bus pickup locations, so please plan accordingly.
Please note for those flying into SFO and hoping to carpool: you are much more likely to get a ride from one of the Marin Airporter stops as many of the locals will go right past these stops on their way to Point Reyes. Getting to and from the airport in San Francisco is not the easiest of adventures for local drivers.
Route 68 Bus To Point Reyes Station: The Route 68 Bus runs from San Rafael and other Marin locations to Point Reyes Station which is the closest bus stop to the retreat location (about 15 minutes away). The Point Reyes Station stop is listed as: “Pt Reyes Downtown-Shoreline Hwy & 3rd St.”

Arriving at the Retreat
This is what the driveway looks like from Highway 1. That entry is on a big corner, so please be safe and elect to pass the entrance and circle back if you don’t see it in time or someone is tailgating, and it is not safe to slow down to make the turn.
Once you turn off Hwy 1 onto the small side road on the right, you will see a large rectangular gray structure (which you can also see on the photo). Immediately past that (20 feet past) you turn right into the parking lot and park there. For those of you with RVs or camper vans, this is where you should park.
From there its a 5 min walk to the main kitchen and meditation area or a 5 minute walk to the tent camping site.
Walking to the Campsite
There is a 5 minute walk from the kitchen area to the camping site so please pack accordingly. You are welcome to make multiple trips so please be mindful of your own capacity to carry things back and forth. We may be able to drive some things from the kitchen to the camping site but this is not guaranteed so please plan accordingly.

Facilities
For this retreat we have the option to tent or van camp or to lodge in one of the A-frame cabins.
All RVs and campers will need to stay in the parking area.
The camping area is a flat meadow that is a 5 minute walk from the parking area. This is rustic camping, so there is no electricity or refrigeration here.
The main retreat area consists of an indoor, fully equipped kitchen with a dining area. Here we will have a tea and coffee making station. The meals will be vegetarian-based. Those with more specific dietary needs may need to bring food to supplement their meals.
There is also a meditation hall within a glass solarium and 8 A-frame cabins available to us. The A-frames are tiny (roughly 120 sq. ft.) with an outside deck. They do not have heating or cooling, and they do not have beds, bedding, or pillows. They do not have electric.
We have 3 indoor flush toilets to share and 2 outdoor showers with hot water access.
Cell Phone/ WiFi Coverage
There is very poor to no cell phone reception and no steady wifi.
You may want to consider this a good time to leave your devices at home or turn them off and allow yourself to go on a digital detox during the retreat.
